It would seem to me that if people studied the HIPAA regulations a lot of these questions would be answered. Now the patient has the right to review their record and if they find an error they can address that and if it is indeed found to be an error it can be corrected. Patients can also give additional information to their physician and if the physician sees it as important to treatment it will be added to the record. I also know that many private physicians don’t follow HIPAA as closely as they should but I guess so far there haven’t been enough “illegal” things taking place or being reported that fines have been given.
