That’s B S. Once again, the rich can buy whatever they want. Want me to leave you 90% of minimum wage and let you buy health care with it?

Is the National Center for Policy Analysis a Republican PAC? We need mandatory coverage. Period. The so-called free market has seriously perverse incentives and healthcare is too important to maintaining a wealthy society (strong workforce, lower employer costs, improved cometetive advantage).

Right now, only 46% of the 304 million Americans are working. Of that number, about 85% are only able to be taxed to pay for this mandated coverage. This works out to about $12,000 per working person to cover the 304 million and like Medicare, the Govt will dictate what will and will not be covered, requiring you to also purchase supplemental insurance to cover what the Govt will not. Govt run programs will get into rationing and will be much worse than an HMO. Do you want to go to a govt employee to provide your healthcare or to your family physican?

You might be so eager and willing to subcombe to govt controlls and payout whatever they profess to pay, I am not. This is still a Free country, to live the way you want, even if that means you shorten your life from too many cigarettes or pizza’s.
