WHO to Assist Beijing on Olympic Health Emergencies

Reuters reports that the World Health Organization (WHO) is offering technical assistance to Chines Officials in their preparation for any public health emergencies that may arise during the 2008 Olympics. WHO Director-General Margaret Chan in a five-day visit to Beijing has been meeting with a variety of Party and Games officials as well as health and safety authorities. “With one-fifth of the world’s population, many of China’s health challenges can become global challenges,” she said.
