A few interesting links to note:
- Grand Rounds 3.38 is up at Dr.Val of RevolutionHealth. A couple of good stories in this edition, including one on how this diabetic was catered to at the local Starbucks, how this hospital CEO apologizes to all those who’ve been hurt by his verbal jabs, and how the Wii has created new medical problems.
- A couple of Amazon execs are tackling healthcare through the creation of a stealth start-up “PeerWisdom.” Details are few, but it looks to be a social media company for patients that will rival other healthcare 2.0 patient communities like PatientsLikeMe. For a list of healthcare 2.0 companies, you can go to this wiki or to my previous post.
- For physicians: if you’re meeting a patient for the first time, make sure you greet them by name.
- For hospital employees: What did you get for employee appreciation week? At this hospital, every employee got an iPod.
