International comparisons of health systems

In partial fulfillment of my promise when I joined this blog, here’s a thoughtful article by Ezra Klein in May’s American Prospect comparing health systems in Canada , France, Great Britain, and Germany - as well as the integrated system of the US Veterans’ Health Administration - with the US overall. Klein focuses on efficiency - how the various systems are able to provide better quality care for less money - and on the possible tradeoffs associated with each.
